BUILDING IMPACTFUL PARTNERSHIPS WITH

COFFEE ROASTERS

Below you will learn how we collaborate with coffee roasters to create positive impacts through our Sustainable Coffee Passport program.

1. Identifying Climate-Positive Coffees:

We recognize that every coffee roaster operates with good intentions. Respecting your views and business dynamics, we collaboratively review all the roasted coffee beans in your inventory with an open mindset to discover climate-positive coffees already available.

2. Connecting Coffee Lovers with Climate-Positive Options:

Coffee lovers are eager to find climate-positive coffees easily, all in one place. That’s why we developed the Sustainable Coffee Passport, a web app that lists these coffees for easy access. Once we identify the climate-positive coffees in your inventory, we’ll add them to the Sustainable Coffee Passport. From there, both new and existing customers can visit your website's product page directly through the app to make purchases. The coffees will be listed in the below list accessible to all our site-members.

3. Standing Out from Greenwashing Practices:

Greenwashing is widespread in commerce, and we firmly stand against it. We aim to spotlight your authenticity, transparency, and inclusivity, helping you stand apart from greenwashing businesses. For each climate-positive coffee, we create a simple QR code that you can use on your packaging and sales channels. This QR code links to a detailed, interactive micro-website for that coffee, providing standardized transparency information to your customers.

4. Sharing Achievements to Inspire Action:

Positive impact stories are contagious, and through them, we can inspire even more change. We kindly request that you share the quantity of climate-positive roasted coffee beans you sell each month. With that information, we calculate the greenhouse gases captured by biodiversity-rich coffee forests thanks to your efforts. The total amount from all our partners, including you, is displayed publicly on our website to motivate the coffee community to drink coffee with a greater purpose.

Kilograms of CO2 reduced by our allies including roasters like you till date through actively participating in our integrated climate action programs like this Sustainabe Coffee Passport program! With your participation we can do even more good.

5. Expanding Opportunities Through Our Network of Changemakers:

By joining our Sustainable Coffee Passport program, you become part of a growing network of changemakers across the global coffee value chain. We actively promote your climate-positive coffees through other programs. Membership in our Climate Positive Cafe Collective requires cafés to use at least one climate-positive coffee—many will be eager to feature yours. Additionally, we refer retailers to your coffees, helping them stock sustainable options.

6. Promoting Climate-Positive Coffee Without Service Fees

Our goal is to ensure shade-grown, biodiversity-friendly, fairly traded coffee that does not pollute water—in other words, climate-positive coffee—is accessible to everyone around the world. Given the current global crisis, we believe this is the right thing to do. Therefore, we charge no service fee for adding your climate-positive coffees to our Sustainable Coffee Passport database or for promoting them through our channels.

We gratefully acknowledge that we currently live, play, and work on the unceded traditional territory of the Lekwungen-speaking peoples, known as the Songhees and Esquimalt Nations. We honour and respect the rich history, cultural heritage, and ongoing contributions of the indigenous communities who have stewarded this land for generations. We are committed to learning, listening, and standing in solidarity with these Nations as we continue our operations on this sacred land. We also equally express our gratitude for the indigenous peoples around the world, especially those who protect the tropical forests of the coffee-growing regions.
