Join fellow coffee people in making the most efficient climate action fun, exciting, and delicious by becoming a member of the Climate-Positive Cafe Collective program by Climate Wave Coffee. Shifting to climate-positive coffee is the most effortless climate action any coffee business can take without compromising coffee quality and operational cost. It is a win-win for everyone. The mandatory requirement is that there must be at least one Certified Climate Wave Coffee, also known as Climate Positive Coffee, which must be served at your cafe to enjoy the benefits the membership. The certification process is entirely free and there is a fair fee of $1 per day for membership to compensate the collective labour hours put into branding and marketing your coffee shop.

MEMBERSHIP PROCESS
REFLECTION OF OUR BELIEF IN TRANSPARENCY AND COLLABORATIVE COMMUNITY BUILDING
We follow a simple yet honest three-step membership acceptance process to maintain our program's integrity and avoid greenwashing.
Step 1: Auditing
Our Climate-friendly Coffee Auditor (CCA) will contact you with initial questions to discover the climate-friendliness of all coffees served at your coffee business. The auditing will be solely based on two climate-action frameworks: Climate Wave Coffee Solutions and Climate Wave Basics.

Step 2: Reporting.
Your coffee's Climate Impact Report will be presented, and the next practical steps will be proposed. If you already have at least one climate-positive coffee, we will proceed directly to the next step. If not, we will work with your existing coffee provider to identify climate-positive coffee from their offerings and recommend that you switch to that climate-positive coffee. After switching, we will proceed to the next step.

Step 3: Membership offered
We will proudly welcome you to be a member of Climate-Positive Cafe Collective. You will gain access to all the benefits of the collective.

MEMBERSHIP & AUDITING FEE
We want this program to be accessible to every changemaker, so we offer the first two steps free of charge for up to 3 roasted coffee beans to be audited. There is a fair membership fee to compensate for the labor hours put into maintaining the operations of this collective, as well as to offer member benefits seamlessly. The membership fee is $1 per day, with the first three months being free.

MINIMUM MEMBERSHIP REQUIREMENT
The three minimum membership requirements are:
1. to serve at least one Certified Climate Positive Coffee, also called Climate-Positive Coffee,
2. commitment to transparency, and
3. willingness to host Coffee People Connect events at your space.
OPTIONAL PAID CONSULTING SERVICES
We offer a full range of professional coffee consulting services. They all require additional skills and time, so we charge a fair flat rate consulting fee of $120 per hour. The services offered included but not limited to:

- Discovery of a new coffee supplier who offers climate-positive coffees within your budget and requirements, including flavour profile expectations
- Espresso dialling and espresso recipe development for climate-positive coffees
- Barista training with a focus on zero milk waste, zero coffee waste, and latte art with low-carbon milk
- Additional marketing & branding support other than the list already provided as member benefits
