INSPIRING COFFEE PEOPLE TO ELIMINATE WASTE

ZERO TO GO

From growing coffee plants to brewing and serving coffee, various kinds of waste are generated by coffee people across the Global Coffee Value Chain. We believe that most of these wastes can be eliminated. Using our Zero To Go program, we analyze each type of waste and create business cases. We hope to inspire fellow entrepreneurs with our practical examples of waste reduction through sustainable business models throughout the Global Coffee Value Chain.

PROJECTS OF ZERO TO GO PROGRAM

Coffee Fruit Tea Blends

Coffee plants provide us coffee fruits. We take the seeds out of those coffee fruits and roast those seeds. roasted seeds, also known as roasted beans are ground, brewed, and consumed. But the flesh as well as skin part of the coffee fruits are often discarded as green waste, which pollutes 100 litres of fresh water per cup of coffee.

Roasted To Order Coffee Beans

Roasted coffee beans start to lose their flavour rapidly. Plastic packaging is the convenient solution to maintain quality, easy transportation, and storage. But they pollute our environment. Truth is compostable packaging is not as sustainable as you think.
